TheStar.com - Sports - Jays likely to place ailing A.J. on DL: "The injury to Jays starter A.J. Burnett's shoulder is more serious than initially thought and he will require time on the disabled list, the team said yesterday.

Burnett was hurt during his June 12 loss in San Francisco. According to the team, an MRI scan done the next day showed no serious damage.

Hoping that rest might prove curative, the plan was to have Burnett skip one start and return Friday. But after tossing lightly yesterday, the pain returned."
