Blue Jays' Thomas Becomes 21st Major Leaguer With 500 Home Runs : "Frank Thomas of the Toronto Blue Jays hit his 500th career home run today, becoming the 21st player in Major League Baseball history to reach the milestone.

Thomas hit a three-run homer off Minnesota Twins pitcher Carlos Silva in the top of the first inning to give the Blue Jays a 4-0 lead.

The 39-year-old is hitting .241 with 13 home runs and 36 runs batted in during his first season with Toronto. He signed a two-year, $18 million contract in November."
